Washington, who is conducting research on cancer disparities with faculty in the department of epidemiology and the UF Health Cancer Center, will perform as the Magic Mirror in the production, set for 2 to 3 p.m. in the UF Health Shands Hospital Garden of Hope.

Washington has participated for the past two years with the White Coat Company, an organization that hosts an annual production for patients and the community. Since its creation in 2005, the White Coat Company has performed plays such as “The Wizard of Oz” and “The Lion King.” Due to COVID-19, recent performances have been recorded.

“This is the first year that I am able to act in a live performance for the kids, and I am truly ecstatic,” Washington said.
