Dietmar Siemann, Ph.D., associate director for education and training at the UF Health Cancer Center, speaks to the 2019-2020 University Scholars.

This term, an exceptional group was chosen in a competitive process, with six scholars new to cancer research and six already involved in cancer research. The scholars represent five different colleges across the University of Florida and will engage in a variety of cancer research projects spanning the center’s research programs.

The mission of the University Scholars Program is to educate the next generation of professionals on the importance of biomedical research and scientific discoveries, specifically focused on cancer. The center provides training opportunities to the scholars, allowing them to make significant contributions to cancer research ranging from basic to translational in cancer prevention, diagnostics, epidemiology and therapeutics.

Please help us congratulate this outstanding group!

Meet the 2023-24 scholars.
