Alison Ivey, R.N., M.S., M.B.A., OCN, CCRP, and Erin Monari, Ph.D., CCRP, take on new leadership roles

The UF Health Cancer Center is pleased to announce that Alison M. Ivey, R.N., M.S., M.B.A., OCN, CCRP, has been promoted to associate director for administration and chief administrative officer at the UF Health Cancer Center. Erin Monari, Ph.D., CCRP, has been named administrative director of the Clinical Research Office.

In this pivotal role, Ms. Ivey will orchestrate the center’s multifaceted administrative and business operations encompassing clinical research, grants administration, finance, facilities and affiliate partnerships. She is also integrally involved in the maintenance of the center’s status as an NCI-designated cancer center. She is a key member of the UF Health Cancer Center senior leadership team and contributes to strategic planning and policy formation for center.

As associate director for administration, Ms. Ivey will oversee all administrative functions of the Cancer Center. She is assuming these duties from Robert Houlihan, D.H.A., M.B.A., FACHE, who has become executive director for strategic planning and research integration.

This new role builds on Ms. Ivey’s nearly 20 years of experience in health care, clinical research and administration. She has played an integral role in the center’s successful clinical trial management and administration. She has been involved in clinical research since 2005 and has served as administrative director of the center’s Clinical Research Office since 2016. More recently, she was promoted to senior director of administration and interim associate director for administration.

Ms. Ivey has a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology from the University of Florida, a Bachelor of Nursing from Johns Hopkins University, a Master of Science in Clinical Research Management from Arizona State University and a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in data analytics from Louisiana State – Shreveport. She is an active member of several professional groups and societies, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Oncology Nursing Society and the Society of Clinical Research Associates. She has held specialty certifications in both oncology nursing and clinical research for over 15 years. 

Monari
Erin Monari, Ph.D., CCRP

In her new leadership role, Dr. Monari will provide administrative oversight for all UF Health Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office teams, including adult hematologic malignancies, adult solid tumor and pediatrics, and she will provide regulatory and financial support.

Dr. Monari has served as assistant director for project management and network operations at the Cancer Center since 2021. She originally joined the center as manager of the Project Management Office in the center’s Clinical Research Office in 2018.

She holds a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Florida. She has strong statistical analysis and writing skills and more than a decade of experience managing clinical trials, with multiple published peer-reviewed manuscripts.
