Laura Parra, M.P.H., CHES, a community programs specialist with the UF Health Cancer Center’s Office of Community Outreach and Engagement, has been selected for a 10-week certificate program in community outreach and engagement run by Cedars-Sinai Cancer Center.
The Certificate in Community Outreach and Engagement is a national training program for cancer center community outreach staff, involving staff from cancer centers across the country. It aims to provide a broad depth of training and education to equip community health educators to effectively serve their cancer centers and communities.
The hybrid program includes self-paced learning, as well as opportunities to participate in discussion groups with content experts.
“My goal upon completion of this program is to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to enhance the capacity of communities most in need and contribute to the objectives of the UF Health Cancer Center, the Office of Community Outreach and Engagement and the National Cancer Institute,” Laura said.
Congratulations, Laura!
