For more than a decade, we were on a journey to bring Florida its first National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center at a public university. In 2023, thanks to the tireless efforts of hundreds of researchers across the University of Florida and with the support of our university, community, state and federal partners, we reached this major milestone. Designation will have a transformative effect for those we serve in the unique region of North Central Florida, ensuring access to the most advanced cancer treatments and innovation.
