Ji-Hyun Lee, DrPH, selected for ASCO mentoring program

Ji-Hyun Lee, DrPH, associate director for cancer quantitative sciences at the UF Health Cancer Center, was invited to serve as a biostatistics mentor in the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO)’s new International Clinical Research Scholars program.

The ASCO Latin America Regional Council selected 18 scholars based across Latin America to participate in the one-year program, which pairs clinical research training with mentorship opportunities to enhance clinician research skills. The program aims to equip them with the skills and guidance needed to implement their research ideas on improving care in their communities.

Lee was selected to serve as a mentor based on her expertise in biostatistics, track record of being an outstanding educator, and commitment to the ASCO mission to conquer cancer through research, education, and promotion of the highest quality, equitable patient care.

The training includes quarterly online learning sessions and additional virtual networking and learning opportunities. Lee will offer guidance for the clinicians to successfully put together a biostatistics plan for their projects.
