UF Health medical oncologist Daniel Araujo, M.D., has been selected for two American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) professional development programs.

Araujo, who joined the UF Division of Hematology and Oncology this spring as a clinical associate professor, was selected to participate in the 2025-26 ASCO Leadership Development Program and the 2025-26 Trainee & Early Career Advisory Group.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to grow alongside such an inspiring group of peers and mentors,” he said. “I’m thankful to ASCO for investing in the next generation of leaders in cancer care.”
The yearlong Leadership Development Program provides participants an opportunity to cultivate valuable leadership skills, gain insight into ASCO’s roles and mission, and understand the society’s impact on the future of cancer care.
Participants engage with a broad range of program participants, enhance their leadership skills through interactive sessions with an executive leadership coach, network and receive mentorship from ASCO leaders, explore ASCO strategic challenges and solutions, and gain exposure to ASCO committees.
The ASCO Trainee & Early Career Advisory Group helps steer ASCO’s events and initiatives for students, fellows, trainees and early-career oncologists. The 2025-26 term will be led by Nazli Dizman, M.D., from MD Anderson Cancer Center.
The group plays a vital role in supporting the professional development and mentoring of medical students, residents, trainees and early-career oncologists. As a member, Araujo will contribute to this mission by representing their voice in ASCO through member liaison appointments and advising on ASCO initiatives.
Araujo specializes in genitourinary malignancies — including renal cell carcinoma, bladder cancer, prostate cancer and testicular cancer — as well as melanoma and other skin cancers. His research involves early-phase studies aimed at optimizing cancer drug dosages, meta-analyses, trial design and systematic reviews, all aimed at improving treatment outcomes and pushing the field forward.
At the UF Health Cancer Center, he is a member of the Immuno-Oncology and Microbiome research program and Data Integrity and Safety Committee.
Congratulations, Dr. Araujo!
