Martina Murphy, M.D., FASCO, has been named a Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) in recognition of her extraordinary volunteer service, engagement and dedication to ASCO.

A gynecologic oncologist and UF Health Cancer Center member, Murphy is a professor of medicine, senior associate dean for graduate medical education and designated institutional official in the UF College of Medicine. She is a clinical investigator and nationally recognized medical educator with a deep commitment to women’s health, mentorship, workforce and professional development and effective health care communication.
ASCO fellow designation is awarded in recognition of efforts that benefit ASCO, the specialty of oncology and patients with cancer. Murphy has held national leadership roles through ASCO and is a graduate of its Educational Scholars Program. She has also held leadership roles with the American Society of Hematology, graduating from its Medical Educators Institute, and served as a faculty mentor and invited speaker for both organizations.

Murphy previously led the UF Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program, which was recognized as the UF Graduate Medical Education Program of the Year in 2024. In her current role, she oversees one of the largest GME enterprises in the country and leads initiatives focused on trainee support, faculty development and educational innovation.
Her research focuses on improving the quality of cancer care through better communication, as well as addressing issues in survivorship and system-level care delivery.
