Ghiaseddin was named to this key Executive Committee position during FLASCO’s 2025 Fall Oncology Congress in Orlando this weekend, where he was also honored with the FLASCO Above and Beyond Award.

“Being elected an officer for FLASCO is an honor,” Ghiaseddin said. “FLASCO has been a leader in supporting oncology providers and patients alike. Their influence in the state for advocacy and education has directly benefited the care we provide our patients.”

Ghiaseddin said he plans to help continue the growth of research grant support that FLASCO provides early-career investigators, driving innovation in cancer care across the state.

“This initiative was a pillar of Dr. Maen Hussein’s FLASCO presidency and I want to continue this momentum in supporting cancer research within the state,” Ghiaseddin said. “It’s an honor to represent our Cancer Center and the Preston A. Wells Jr. Center for Brain Tumor Therapy at FLASCO. I’m grateful for Drs. Jonathan Licht, Thomas George, Duane Mitchell and Brian Hoh for their leadership and support. I want to enhance the partnership between UF and FLASCO, with the goal to improve the lives of our patients.”
