Elena Nelson appointed to NRG Oncology leadership role

Elena Nelson, M.B.A., CCRC, has been appointed vice chair of the NRG Oncology Clinical Research Associate (CRA) Subcommittee and member of the Protocol Support Committee (PSC) Core.

The Protocol Support Committee is a Scientific Core Committee that oversees support and quality control of protocol-related activities, education and training of NRG Oncology members on relevant topics and mentorship. Committee members work within the disease-specific committees to support these functions. The Clinical Research Associate Subcommittee is an advisory/working subcommittee to help facilitate the goals of the Protocol Support Committee.   

At the UF Health Cancer Institute, Nelson is the manager of data management and network operations in the Clinical Research Office. In this role, she oversees a team of nine data management professionals, ensuring accurate and timely entry of clinical research source data. She manages data workflows for solid tumor, hematologic malignancy, early-phase and pediatric clinical studies, collaborating closely with clinical research coordinators to ensure data integrity and compliance. Nelson also oversees the Academic Research Consortium (ARC) Network, which aims to accelerate innovation and progress through supporting a variety of research opportunities for patients throughout Florida.
