talent development Learning & Development

The Talent Development team provides training and professional development for UFHCC staff, faculty, and affiliates. As a unit dedicated to the specific learning needs at UFHCC, the Talent Development team plays a crucial role in advancing the center’s mission by creating tailored learning opportunities, such as specialized onboarding and training programs, workshops, and resources. The team works to provide the clinical research staff and faculty with the knowledge, skills, and techniques to empower them to stay at the forefront of cancer research.

Online Learning Resources

Investigator Training

The UFHCC Investigator Training has been developed to help investigators new to UFHCC to quickly and easily complete the mandatory trainings required before human subject research can be conducted at the University of Florida and the UF Health Cancer Center. A version of this course is also offered to scholars and fellows upon request. Please see the CRO Guidance Document Onboarding and Training New Investigators for more information.

Live Sessions & Webinars

Clinical Research Educational Series

Each month, the CRO Education Series presents hourlong sessions on topics in clinical research to the UF Health Cancer Center CRO staff. These topics are aligned with the Joint Task Force (JTF) Core Competency Framework for Clinical Research Professionals, and frequently continuing education credit is offered for the maintenance of certifications provided by the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) and Society of Clinical Research Associations (SOCRA). Some examples of past sessions include a presentation on the drug development process, elements of informed consent, and common statistical tests used in cancer research, among others. A list of past events mapped to the domains can be found on our SharePoint site. As available, recordings, slides, and handouts are also saved on SharePoint for staff review.
