Cheers to the New Year 2021

cheers

On Jan. 12., the UF Health Cancer Center held its annual “Cheers to the New Year” party to celebrate our myriad of accomplishments in 2020 and to acknowledge key employees whose outstanding efforts were essential to our success this year.

2020 was a year of challenge: a deadly pandemic, economic collapse, a powerful racial justice movement, political change and an emerging triumph of science over disease.

We are proud of how UF Health Cancer Center members have, despite these challenges, maintained their resolve to decrease the cancer burden in our region through direct clinical care and continued clinical research, population and fundamental research. Many of our members even shifted gears and helped in the COVID fight using their special skills.

So even though our Cheers to the New Year event looked a little different this year, it was still important to recognize a few of the Cancer Center’s incredible achievements from last year — and the many individuals who persevered through innumerable challenges to make those achievements possible.
