Associate Director for Shared Resources, UF Health Cancer Center
Associate Director for Science, UF Interdisciplinary Center for Biotechnology Research (ICBR)
The Interdisciplinary Center for Biotechnology Research (ICBR) serves as a campus-wide resource, providing scientific expertise and world-class biotechnology research services for life science researchers. Most core service laboratories are located in the Cancer/Genetics Research Complex. Through a partnership between the UF Health Cancer Center (UFHCC) and the UF ICBR, UFHCC members have access to state-of-the-art instrumentation, including the NextGen DNA Sequencing Core and the Flow Cytometry & Confocal Microscopy Shared Resource.
The NextGen DNA Sequencing Core provides a broad range of high quality, massively parallel, high-throughput sequencing services for biological research, including transcriptome analysis, targeted genome and variant analysis, microbiome analysis, epigenetics, and de novo genome assembly.
The Flow Cytometry & Confocal Microscopy Shared Resource provides researchers with 24/7 easy access to flow cytometers (both analyzers and sorters), small-particle instruments and confocal microscopes. These resources are used for the isolation of rare immunological and tumor cell populations for downstream analysis and characterization using single-cell genomic analysis.
Dr. Steven Madore is a molecular biologist and the Associate Director for Core Technologies at the UF Health Cancer Center. He provides oversight of 7 core laboratories providing technical and scientific expertise to life science researchers. In addition, he ensures the integration and alignment of technical and scientific instrumentation and biotechnology interests.
