Associate Director for Shared Resources, Interdisciplinary Center for Biotechnology Research
Through a partnership with the UF Health Cancer Institute, shared resources within the Interdisciplinary Center for Biotechnology Research, including the Flow Cytometry & Confocal Microscopy Core and the NextGen DNA Sequencing Core, provide UF Health Cancer Institute researchers with access to state-of-the-art instrumentation and scientific and technical expertise to conduct impactful research studies in support of the strategic aims of basic, translational and clinical cancer research activities. Capabilities within the Flow Cytometry Core include isolation of rare immunological and tumor cell populations for downstream analysis and characterization using single-cell genomic analysis in collaboration with the NextGen DNA Sequencing Core and the UF Health Cancer Institute’s Biostatistics & Computational Biology Shared Resource.
Dr. Steven Madore has extensive expertise in genomics, gene expression, and biorepository science. As the Associate Director for Science in the Interdisciplinary Center for Biotechnology Research, he is responsible for the oversight of seven core laboratories that provide technical and scientific expertise to a wide range of life science researchers. In his role as Associate Director for Shared Resources, he oversees the overall coordination of UFHCC shared resources; and integrates and aligns UFHCC and campus wide technical and scientific instrumentation and biotechnology interests.
