Proteintech is a globally recognized producer of antibodies, proteins and immunoassays, established in 2001 with a strong emphasis on generating high-quality reagents through in-house manufacturing.

Workshop 2: Transitioning from Academia to Industry: Tips for Job Hunting, Resume Writing and Interviewing

Breaking into an industry career can be tough, especially if you don’t know what careers are available or the best way to showcase your skills to make yourself a competitive candidate. This training will cover how to search for jobs in industry, guidelines for a top-notch resume and tips to ace your interview. An in-depth Q&A with the speaker will follow the workshop.

Afrida Rahman-Enyart, Ph.D.

Afrida is the senior marketing manager at Proteintech and joined the team in March 2022. She is a neurodevelopmental biologist by training and completed dual Ph.D.s in Neuroscience and Psychology from Indiana University-Bloomington. Afrida then did a postdoc at Northwestern University where she studied neuromechanisms of pelvic pain. Afrida has over 10 years of bench experience in immunoprecipitation, Western blotting and immunofluorescence. As part of her job, Afrida manages the U.S. marketing team and helps design and execute strategic marketing initiatives to raise market presence and awareness. She also travels to institutions across North America providing technical and careers workshops for scientists. She enjoys being a resource for graduate students and postdocs interested in transitioning from academia to industry, having gone through the process herself!
