Bioinformatics Workshop: Basics of Bulk RNA-Seq Analysis

  • Date and time

    (see details)

Description

This one-day, in-person workshop introduces researchers to core bioinformatics concepts and best practices through a hands-on, end-to-end RNA-seq example. The day is split into two focused parts: a foundations framework in the morning, followed by guided execution and data interpretation in the afternoon. Rather than teaching every tool in depth, the workshop emphasizes how bioinformatics analyses are structured, how to do them reproducibly and how to evaluate whether an analysis worked. While RNA-seq is used as the example, the principles and workflows apply broadly across omics data types.

No prior bioinformatics experience is required. All analyses are run on UFs HiPerGator computing environment using provided datasets.
