The Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) Individual Predoctoral Fellowship (F31) is designed to support promising predoctoral students as they engage in mentored research training while conducting dissertation research in scientific health-related fields relevant to their future careers. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) also offers the F31 award, which specifically supports doctoral candidates performing research aligned with the NCIs mission to establish independent research careers.
