The UF Health Cancer Center has expanded its research programs to strengthen the impact of cancer research and meet the needs of an expanding membership. The expansion will make it easier and faster for investigators to directly apply their discoveries to clinical care, for the ultimate benefit of patients and community members.

Licht, M.D., participated in a panel discussion on the transition to post-treatment care with colleagues at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and Moffitt Cancer Center.

Throughout October, the Office of Community Outreach and Engagement participated in several events offering mobile mammography services with community partners and helped connect community members to cancer screening and health care services.

Zeina Al-Mansour, M.D., is an associate professor in the division of hematology/oncology in the UF College of Medicine. Her primary clinical interests are myeloid malignancies and hematopoietic cell transplant, particularly in the older population.
We asked her more about how she got into medicine, what it means to be a woman in medicine and her advice to others.

Southeastern Cancer Survivorship Symposium

The inaugural Southeastern Cancer Survivorship Symposium is set for 7:30 a.m. to noon Nov. 9. The event features two prominent keynote speakers in the field of cancer survivorship. Attendees will have the opportunity to attend breakout sessions with the speakers for more focused discussions.
