Ph.D. Pathways in Cancer Research: Andrew Maxim

Andrew Maxim's first time stepping onto a university campus was when he became a Ph.D. trainee at the University of Florida.
Ever since he was young, he knew he wanted to be a computer scientist and his journey to get where he is now was filled with risk taking, encouraging mentors, and a passion for failure along the way.
Here at UF, Maxim is able to combine his passion for computer science with cancer research by working in the Virtual Experiences Research Group of Benjamin Lok, Ph.D., where he works on using virtual humans as a way to educate and promote colorectal cancer screening in underrepresented groups.
